The crossing is where Magic Mountain remembers it was built as a family park in 1971. The rapids ride anchors it, the family coasters cluster around it, and the shade is better here than anywhere above it. On a hot day this is also the park's cooling strategy.
This is the zone for parties splitting up: the under-48-inch contingent can spend a genuine half-day here while the thrill riders work the summit and the bay, and Jet Stream-style soak rides give everyone a reason to reunite.
