DC Universe is the park's most compact coaster corner: Batman's suspended queue and Riddler's stand-up track pack two intense rides within a hundred yards of each other. Both are B&M coasters from the 1990s golden era of that manufacturer, and both still out-perform rides half their age.

The theming is comic-book storefront level, which is to say minimal, but nobody comes here for set dressing. Come early or come late: the strip is close to the entrance and collects the first mid-morning crowd wave of the day.

Do not miss

  • Batman: The Ride, the West Coast invert
  • The Riddler's Revenge, one of the last big stand-up coasters
  • Two intense coasters within a short walk of each other

DC Universe tips

  • Do this strip in the first hour or after 5pm; between noon and 4pm both queues bake.
  • Riddler's stand-up restraints punish wrong posture — stand straight, not leaning, or the bicycle seat finds you.

Batman: The Ride

54"137cm

Roller coaster · 2 min · Line-skip

The West Coast Batman invert — the 1994 B&M suspended coaster that still out-punches rides twice its footprint.

Magic Mountain's Batman is the West Coast sibling of the 1992 Great America original, a first-generation B&M invert packing a vertical loop, zero-g roll, corkscrews and tight helixes into one of the smallest big-coaster footprints anywhere. Thirty years on, it remains the pacing benchmark other compact loopers are measured against.

Tips for Batman: The Ride
  • Front row for the flight sensation; back row for force.
  • The queue is shaded and themed — one of the few at this park where the wait itself is tolerable at midday.
  • Pair with Riddler next door; doing both in one pass through DC Universe beats circling back.

The Riddler's Revenge

54"137cm

Roller coaster · 2½ min · Line-skip

The world's tallest and fastest stand-up coaster — six inversions taken standing up, a category of ride that barely still exists.

The Riddler's Revenge is a 156-foot B&M stand-up coaster and the last of its size anywhere: stand-up coasters stopped being built, and the survivors are aging monuments. Riding it means standing against a bicycle seat through a vertical loop, two dive loops, an inclined loop and corkscrews — inversions feel categorically different on your feet.

Tips for The Riddler's Revenge
  • Get the seat height right at boarding — adjusting mid-ride is impossible and the wrong height hurts.
  • Stand tall through the loops; leaning into the harness is how riders end up sore.
  • It loads slowly (seat adjustment per rider) — budget more queue time than Batman next door.
