The Cypress Gardens section preserves the original 1936 botanical gardens: the banyan court, the southern belles' garden paths, and the lakefront gazebo that made the site famous as Florida's first theme park. Restored as part of the Legoland build, it is genuinely beautiful and genuinely historic.

For adults this is the park's justification; for overheated families it is the best shade on the property. The water-ski show on the lake continues the site's 80-year tradition in modern form.

Walk it slowly. It is the rare theme-park land that predates the theme park by 75 years.
