Winter Haven is 45–60 minutes southwest of the tourist district, closer to Tampa. A dedicated day with a car is the honest plan; squeezing it between Magic Kingdom days exhausts everyone.

Legoland Florida is a young-family park with the same rope-drop logic as California: the Dragon first, the driving-school sign-up second, Miniland and the gardens in the heat hours.
The distance question is the planning core: 45–60 minutes from Orlando's parks means it competes for a day of a Disney trip badly and works as its own dedicated day well.
If you only have one day, do exactly this
- The Dragon at rope drop.
- Coastersaurus before its queue builds.
- Driving school in the morning window.
- Miniland for a full hour.
- Cypress Gardens shade hour and the ski show.
- Fire academy and boat school after.
- The Dragon again at close.

The gardens are the adult product
The Cypress Gardens section is a restored 1936 botanical landmark. Give it a slow hour even on a ride-focused day — it is the best landscaping at any park on this site.
Ages over heights, again
Restrictions are age-and-supervension based; this site states no Legoland heights on purpose. The park's own ride pages carry the current bands.

Mistakes first-timers make
- Trying to do Legoland as a half-day add-on to an Orlando trip — the drive eats the half-day.
- Missing the Cypress Gardens section as 'just landscaping.' It is the site's soul.
- Skipping the driving-school sign-up until the bands are full.
- Underestimating Florida afternoon storms in summer — the indoor rides and shows are the 3pm plan.
