Yukon Territory is the enthusiast's corner: Goliath, the 2014 Rocky Mountain hybrid that inverts a wooden coaster twice, and American Eagle, the 1981 racing woodie whose twin 100-plus-foot drops still dispatch side by side on good days.

The section is wooded, quieter, and holds the park's best back-corner energy. When the front fills, Yukon stays rideable — its queues age better than most.

Great America's Goliath is a Rocky Mountain Construction hybrid on a wooden structure, and when it opened in 2014 it set records for the type: the steepest drop on a wooden-structure coaster at 85 degrees, plus two inversions — a zero-g stall and a barrel roll — that wood was never supposed to carry.

Tips for Goliath
  • Ride early afternoon when the Raging Bull crowd is elsewhere — this queue ages better through the day.
  • Back row amplifies everything; ride mid-train first.
  • If anyone in the party expects a gentle classic woodie, recalibrate them in the queue — this is not that.

American Eagle

American Eagle is a piece of working 1981 Americana: two full wooden coasters, mirror-imaged, built side by side for racing. The shared lift and first drop remain among the tallest wooden-coaster moments of its era, and when both trains dispatch together the park gets its best free show.

  • Ask at the station if racing dispatches are running — the duel is the whole point when it happens.
  • Back car for the airtime; the 1981 drops still deliver.
  • Ride early or late; midday the single-track operation can kill the race.

The Joker

The Joker is a S&S 4D freespin coaster: beyond the track's twists, the cars themselves rotate freely, flipping riders head-over-heels at moments physics chooses rather than a designer. Two rides are never the same, which is the entire pitch.

Tips for The Joker
  • Weight distribution changes the spin — heavier loads flip differently. Re-riding is the point.
  • Ride after the big three, not before; it scrambles the inner ear for whatever follows.
