County Fair is the park's front door and its most historically intact section — the 1976 Marriott-era theming survives in the fairground architecture and the giant wheel. It reads as the Midwest's original vision of a theme park, because it is.

Practically it is logistics territory: guest services, lockers, and the walk toward the coaster loop. The marquee rides sit deeper — the plan starts here but does not stay.

Whizzer opened with the park in 1976 and has survived every redevelopment wave since — a suspended, lift-driven family coaster whose trains swing gently through a wooded course. It is the rare survivor of its type and the park's best first coaster by a distance.

Maxx Force is a Premier launched coaster built around one statistic: acceleration. The launch is among the fastest in American parks, and it feeds straight into a huge corkscrew-style inversion that was record-setting for its speed through a loop.
