Gotham City is the park's thrill corner: Mr. Freeze's dual launched shuttle tracks fire riders up twin spikes and back, and the modern 4D-freespin spinners join it. The theming leans into the DC universe harder than anywhere else at the park.

Mr. Freeze is the section's reason — the launch is one of the most violent accelerations at any Six Flags, and the dual-track layout means the queue moves in double-time when both sides run.

Gotham City tips

  • Mr. Freeze early — its queue is short but the launch tolerance is not; do it before the heat.
  • Front row on Freeze for the spike view; the backwards return is the whole point.

Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast

54"137cm

Roller coaster · 1½ min · Line-skip

The twin-track launched shuttle that fires you up a 218-foot vertical spike and back through the course backwards — the park's most violent thirty seconds.

Mr. Freeze opened in 1998 as the park's flagship launch coaster: linear-motor catapult to 70 miles per hour, up a 218-foot vertical tower where the train balances, then the whole course again in reverse. The 'Reverse Blast' conversion flipped the trains to launch backwards, which is how it runs today.

Tips for Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast
  • Launch happens fast — head back against the rest before the countdown ends.
  • The backwards top hat is the moment; eyes open, you will want to have seen it.
  • Both sides of the dual station run the same ride; take whichever queue is shorter.
